Adrianpaisa comments on Así es Colombia, Santa Marta

Adrianpaisa comments on Así es Colombia, Santa Marta

Adrianpaisa comments on Así es Colombia, Santa Marta

robi666, now this is a true pleasure. To be able to talk civilized and not full of that nonsense of degrading someone else through the use of words which really don't add to the enhancement of knowledge. Yes I do love Colombia very much. Taganga and Santa Marta as a whole are a beautiful region of the country. I am pretty sure that it has been ruined over time and what a shame. Wrong things and wrong places, lets see, I had mention the retails previously because they seem to offer some sort of counterweight of what will eventually fall upon Colombia. It is being discovered after so much bad press, and I just believe that we should really support the local industry. Let it be Mimo's or Helado San Jeronimo, whatever the case, we should really support those who want to create industry and make them flourish. Maybe then there wouldn't be a need for Colombians to have to leave their homes in search of a better living.

yes italian ice cream is indeed good, gelato. if i tried this would it make me less of an idiot? seems that when one wants to support the local industry and not cater so much to a foreign competitor, makes us somewhat less intelligent and less worthy of commenting. very good reference guide for future topics

Thank you robi666, very kind words from a very intelligant being. I guess I should take the words according to the person who has said them. I will say it again, Taganga is a beautiful place. The people and biodiversity found there is amazing. Now if politics is what you wanted to talk about, then you should have said so. One thing is to talk about the landscape, culture, and the atmosphere of a place and another completely different thing is to talk about the political, economical, and historical aspect of an area. -Advise-before shoving your foot in your mouth, make sure the true aspect of the conversation. dude.

One more thing, how can you honestly compare a McDonalds to a Hamburgesas del Corral o Del Oeste? Even better, Wal-Mart where the service is ridiculously bad to the service and attention you get at Exito o Pomona? My friend Saltador, it is a wonderful thing to be able to explore and appreciate other cultures. Makes the human race that much more richer and exciting.

Adrianpaisa comments on Así es Colombia, Santa Marta

Saltador, What is the language or culture of the USA? I was born and raised here, and yet I still have not been able to define this concept. Ask the same question but regarding Colombia or any other nation and your sure to get a more precise answer. Why? USA was founded by "foreigners" and was a propaganda at one time in US history to come to this land and make the "American dream" come true.

Adrianpaisa comments on Así es Colombia, Santa Marta

bufalo, I kinda agree with you and with Monpirri. my take is, that to much tourism dopey tourist who don't appreciate the local culture = a McDonald's and Wal-Mart on every street corner Que rico es comer helado Mimo's en un almacen Exito mientras escuchas Guillermo Buitrago en el autoparlante en Diciembre

Adrianpaisa comments on Así es Colombia, Santa Marta

-Taganga-

Adrianpaisa comments on Así es Colombia, San Andrés

Adrianpaisa comments on Así es Colombia, San Andrés

Adrianpaisa comments on NataliaV

Adrianpaisa comments on Así es Colombia, San Andrés

Adrianpaisa comments on Introduction, Newbe

I agree with Morphus on Medellin, all it needs is beachfront.

Adrianpaisa comments on Sickened with insecure colombians

Someone with shared experiences Dtapia,
it is actually quite comforting to see that someone has experienced the same attitudes and can relate to the arrogance that these "pseudo-elite" have when encountered with someone who can test their status-quo. I too, was born in the U.S. and dearly love Colombia and when I have traveled in the past and met some of "these people" they never fail to amaze me. The ignorance that these people, mostly found in the higher-status sectors in the cities posses is astonishing.

Adrianpaisa comments on Question regarding Packet 3

Advice?? Well my wife is currently making travel arrangements to Bogota. Is there anything that she should do or say once she arrives at the embassy? I know first hand that the personnel working there are not the most pleasant of people which makes everything that more of an unpleasant situation.
Thanks once again to everyone,

Adrianpaisa comments on Question regarding Packet 3

utopiacowboy Mr. Cowboy
nice info. why didnt you come on the forum before with this information.
Have you tried it before? If this works out quickly, I owe you BIG!!!

Adrianpaisa comments on Question regarding Packet 3

Brians I've emailed the embassy, but no luck. At least no response yet, or is there another email that I'm not aware of?
Thanks

Adrianpaisa comments on Question regarding Packet 3

Ipdiver Thats the thing, I called on Tuesday between 3 and 4 just as the answering machine had indicated. Absolutely nothing!! no one picked up the phone. one and three, colombian time of east coast time??
Thanks once again

Adrianpaisa comments on Question regarding Packet 3

Brians You know what, I emailed the embassy and do you think that they have replied? Not a single thing. What I recently did was follow a friend's advice since he is also trying it with his mother. Contact your state congressman and they will send a letter to the embassy which is called "congressional inquiry" I hope that at least this will help

Adrianpaisa comments on Question regarding Packet 3

Ipdiver I recieved a letter from Bogota back in December of 2004. Still nothing.

Adrianpaisa comments on Question regarding Packet 3
