El Dorado airport issues. What gives?

I went through Barranquila airport in December and was given a 90 day visa when requested. When I went though Bogota in March they wouldn't give me a 90 day only a 60 day. I've read a lot on this subject and if your American they DID offer a 90 day visa. When I asked the Bogota immigration officer she told me first that they didn't offer a 90 day tourist visa then after I showed her multiple 90 day visas on my passport she told me it depended on the city of entry that they were all different. ...

Best rum deal in Colombia

FYI after hearing Brava beer is extinct it reminded me of something. Exito has a exclusive licence in Colombia for a rum from Guyana called "El Dorado". It's fantastic! It's only sold at Exito and it even says so on the back label. In Santa Marta it sold for 21,000 pesos. In Bogota 14,500. It's considered a 'ron obscuro" dark rum. How come no one ever speaks much of Letica? That was the first city in Colombia I was ever in. The tri-border down there is very interesting. Getting organized before I get out of here (gym and book question)

How safe are valuables in budget hotels?

Just so you know this question isn't so much related to Colombia as budget hotels in general. If you stayed in a cheap hotel what are the odds you think your valuables would be ganked? Visa stamp question (90 day stamp)

The last time I was in Colombia I came in through Letica via boat from Peru. I asked the customs agent for the 90 stamp and he gave it to me. When I made it to Santa Marta I met some other Americans and they acted really surprised that I got a 90 stamp. They said they asked for 90 days and only got 30 days.
