I really wanted to state my opinion on this and since yesterday's thread (a PERFECT example of what happens here by the way) turned in to a bitch fest and was thread-jacked so many times (yes myself included but I really do like wine).... hmmm I'm doing it again...

Ok what I want to say is that the Friendly Talk Zone gets clogged up with so much absolute garbage a lot of the time, DESI, I think this is a great idea that you have. This problem is not going to go away so it seems this might just be the solution. Let everyone duke it out over here, air their grievances and keep the rest of the site as clean but fun, as possible.

I'm just as guilty as the next person as I have read through some of the ridiculous posts just for sheer entertainment because I'm bored, but when it comes down to it and I really do want help or information it's very frustrating having to weed through all the bullshit. I'm not referring to friendly banter etc.... but the venom that sometimes gets spewed is really unnecessary (IMO).

I can speak on behalf of a friend of mine, a mature independent female traveler that came to PBH for travel tips and advice when in the planning stages of her trip and she was disgusted and put off by some of the horrible responses to her legitimate questions.

Luz, that has been discussed before. Peter says no because it could not possibly be moderated, we don't have enough people and who would WANT to moderate a PBH chatroom. I like the idea, though. PBHers are chatty and lots of thread turn into a sort of slow-motion chat anyway.
